INTRODUCTION
obprofile obprofile enables quick switch between configura‐
tion files:

OpenBox
– ~/.config/openbox/autostart
– ~/.config/openbox/menu
– ~/.config/openbox/rc.xml
– ~/.config/gtk-3.0
– ~/.gtkrc-2.0
– ~/.gtkrc-2.0.mine

Application
– ~/.wbar
– ~/.tilda
– ~/.conkyrc
– ~/.config/tint2/tint2rc
– ~/.config/terminator/config
– ~/.config/nitrogen/bg-saved.cfg
– ~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-pearchannel-xml/xfce4-noti‐
fyd.xml

Application during first run creates a folder tree in
~/.config/openbox/profile. Error window reports there is no
configuration files. Settings backup are created (default
settings) during first profile change and kept in
[–restore], then user must set up other configuration
files.

Activities necessary to make changes:

– Menu -> conf -> User Interface Settings
– Menu -> conf -> Choose Wallpaper
– Menu -> conf -> Openbox -> GUI Config Tool
– Menu -> conf -> Openbox -> GUI Menu Editor
– Menu -> conf -> Config Layout -> icon
– Menu -> conf -> Config Layout -> wbar
– Menu -> conf -> Config Layout -> tint2
– Menu -> conf -> Config Layout -> conky
– Menu -> conf -> Config Layout -> notifyd
– Menu -> Tilda -> menuRKM -> Preferences
– Menu -> Terminal -> menuRKM -> Preferences

In addition, you can define Openbox autostart list in ses‐
sion profile. To do this, edit the file ~/.config/open‐
box/autostart to add or remove programs from startup list.
Programs added to the startup list are called while pro‐
files are changed, so if, during switching from one set‐
tings to another settings, process running in the back‐
ground is not killed, it will be doubled, to avoid this,
edit the file:
– Menu -> conf -> Openbox -> Edit profile apps
All other changes made to Openbox are saved in ~/.con‐
fig/openbox/rc.xml for example: edit file rc.xml in sec‐
tion Keybindings… to change keyboard shortcuts. Rc.xml
file is a configuration file of OpenBox.

Default keyboard shortcuts for switching between profiles:

– Super+1 –restore
– Super+2 –light
– Super+3 –dark
– Super+4 –user

The idea of obprofile is to make Openbox session more
attractive, and also to introduce a OpenBox Window Manager
and its configuration.
